How do I start trading with Total Trader?
To open a trading account you download and print an application form, complete and sign it, and return it to us with a certified copy of your identification.
If you only want to sell your shares, but don’t want to open an account with us, try our one-off http://www.sellmyshares.com.au/ service. All you need to do is sign a single form and send it to us with a copy of your share holding statement and identification and you will receive a cheque a few days later.
Once I complete my application, when can I start trading?
When we have received your form and identification we will process your application, and open your account. You can begin trading over the phone or online immediately (note – you will need funds in your account in order to place orders).
Is there a minimum balance required for the account?
We suggest a minimum starting account balance of AUD$5,000. You will need to ensure you have adequate funds to cover the margins of the specific products you intend to trade.
Who can trade on my account?
Only the account holder (or holders in the case of joint accounts) can trade on your account unless you have authorised other persons to do so. If you wish to nominate another person to trade on your account, you must complete the Authorised Agent Form and send it to us.
How do I get funds out of my Trading Account?
All enquiries should be directed to your account manager including requests to withdraw funds. If your instruction to withdraw funds is received before 11.00am we can transfer the funds on the same day, or if after 11.00am, the next business day. We can also transfer funds to a nominated external bank account – you can use our Bank Account Nomination form to set up this facility.
Do you provide Direct Market Access (DMA) on CFDs ?
We offer DMA and Non-DMA CFDs. You will be asked when you setup your account which option you would like. You can select to have both.
What is the fees for Live Data and News?
To see the data price list and activate live data, go to the main menu and select Account > Subscriptions > Subscription Price List then select the subscriptions of your choice.
There are data fee rebates for most global stock exchanges. For the ASX the data fee is rebated provided there have been six trades per month. These trades can consist of a combination of ASX stocks or CFDs, but excludes Index CFDs.
Note – rebates only apply for non-professional investors.
Where can I view your Commission Schedule and the range of Products?

When can I place orders?
Orders can be placed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Orders placed outside of market hours are queued and sent to the market before open on the next trading day. Orders placed when the market is open on trading days are sent directly to the market.
Where can I view you margins requirements?
Margin requirements for Stocks, CFDs and Forex are found on the free eBridge Trader demo platform in Trading Conditions. Futures margins will be found in Futures Contract Specifications, under the Futures menu.
Do you have a 24-hour desk?
Our dealing desk is available 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
